Implementation of the Surface water Groundwater Interaction in the Truckee RiverWare Model and Its Calibration to an Existing MODFLOW Model
Linnet Jose—Precision Water Resources Engineering, LLC

ABSTRACT
Groundwater components were introduced to the Truckee RiverWare TROA Planning model as part of the NSF-funded “Water for the Seasons” project.  An Existing Truckee Meadows Groundwater MODFLOW model was used as a base model to calibrate the RiverWare Groundwater modeling component. From approximately 10,000 nodes in MODFLOW model, 15 Groundwater nodes were implemented in TROA Planning model to model the major water balance terms of Infiltration, Evapotranspiration, Pumping and Seepage. The calibration was done with the intent of matching the Surfacewater-Groundwater interaction in the Truckee Meadows.  This presentation will review the development process and share results from the model.
