Tarrant Regional Water District’s Transmission System Model

Laura Blaylock

The Tarrant Regional Water District’s surface water supply system covers a ten county area in North Texas, including a large portion of the Fort Worth/Dallas metropolitan area.  The District currently supplies 1.5 million people with future service area population projections estimated to double by 2050.

The District’s system is a dynamic one, with new supplies planned for decades to come.  New infrastructure and increasing complexity of the system is likewise increasing the difficulty of optimally managing our resources.  RiverWare was chosen as the best fit for the components of our system, as it is an evolving, managed and supported software.  The District is utilizing the existing objects and workspace in Riverware as well as presenting opportunities for new objects and solutions to be included in the software package.
