Automated Parameter Estimation and Model Calibration in RiverWare

Highly parameterized environmental models such as RiverWare can pose a complex and challenging task for modelers to calibrate. In this talk, an overview of various methods for automatic parameter estimation are explored. This talk will introduce the audience to the process of interfacing RiverWare via two different open-source methods, using Python and PEST. The benefits of automatic calibration, as well as some of the challenges will also be discussed.
