ABSTRACT
The presentation will start with a brief overview of the Tennessee River System and an overview of how TVA uses Optimization in an hourly timestep to schedule hydropower for the TVA and Cumberland River dams. The presentation will then focus on the motivations behind incorporating the previous fortran-based “Clean-up” into the hourly model and will explore the opportunities and challenges that resulted from switching to the Delft-FEWS open data handling platform.
