Output Utilities and Data Visualization : Output Canvas : The System-Defined Output Canvas
The System-Defined Output Canvas
Shapes, text, and lines can be created via the right-click context menu from the workspace. This is described in Adding Shapes, Lines and Canvas Text in User Interface. When created from the workspace, the items are added to a system-defined output canvas, one for each workspace view, as follows:
• System Simulation View
• System Geospatial View
• System Web Map View
Note:  These items are not currently allowed on the Accounting view.
Each system-defined output canvas has the following features:
• If the system output canvas does not already exist, an output canvas with the above name is created when an item is added to the appropriate view,
• You can change the name of the system canvas.
• The general canvas setting Is Default for View keeps track of which canvas is the system canvas associated with each view. This setting is read-only and can have the value No, Simulation, Geospatial, or Web View. A value of No indicates that the output canvas is a standard user-created output canvas. Items can be shown on the views, but items cannot be added to the canvas from the workspace.
• The system-defined output canvas can be set to display on views other than the view for which they are the system view, but items added via the workspace context menu will always be added to the appropriate system-defined output canvas.
